What Is Kustom Pawtraits?
Kustom Pawtraits is a site that allows pet parents to commission a custom scratchboard portrait of their favorite furry family members. What are scratchboards you ask? Scratchboards are made out of masonite covered in white clay, which is then covered in black ink. This makes the medium unique since the artistry is done entirely by “scratching” the canvas and removing the ink.
With the contrasting colors of the medium, Kustom Pawtraits can truly capture the twinkle in your pet’s eyes, that little mole on their cheek, the spots on their fur and all the other little details to bring your pet and it’s personality to life!
About Jeff
With a B.A. degree in Studio Art from the University of Texas, Jeff Kovalcik is classically trained and has crafted murals for local high schools, sold various abstract works, and commissioned portraits for animals and humans. Jeff’s love for scratchboard began when he created a piece to memorialize a family pet. After experiencing the joy his piece brought to him and his family, Jeff was moved to help others capture that same feeling, thus Kustom Pawtraits was born! Jeff looks forward to creating a custom piece of your furry family member and bringing the joy to your family too.
